जोशीमठ (चमोली)। समुद्रतल से 14576 फीट की ऊंचाई पर नंदा देवी राष्ट्रीय पार्क के जंगल व वन्य जीवों की सुरक्षा के लिए अब वन विभाग की महिला कर्मी भी कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर आगे बढ़ रही हैं। इसी माह पार्क क्षेत्र में लाता खर्क-धराशी पास तक गश्त पर निकली वनकर्मियों की 12-सदस्यीय टीम में पहली बार तीन महिला कर्मचारी भी शामिल हुईं। अपने अनुभव साझा करते हुए महिला वनकर्मियों ने कहा कि यह उनके लिए चुनौतीपूर्ण कार्य था। फिर भी जंगलों की सुरक्षा के प्रति अपने कर्तव्य को उन्होंने सात दिन में पूरी जिम्मेदारी से निभाया।

लाता खर्क-धराशी पास में इस बार बड़ी तादाद में दुर्लभतम प्रजाति के वन्य जीवों की चहलकदमी ट्रैप कैमरों में कैद हुई है। इससे वन विभाग की जिम्मेदारी भी बढ़ गई है। इसी कड़ी में वन विभाग ने सात पड़ाव वाली लंबी दूरी की गश्त का निर्णय लिया तो पार्क में तैनात वन दारोगा रोशनी नेगी, फारेस्ट गार्ड ममता कनवासी व दुर्गा सती ने भी गश्त का हिस्सा बनने की इच्छा जताई।

लंबी गश्त की दिक्कतों को देखते हुए अब तक उसमें महिला कर्मियों को नहीं भेजा जाता था। जिस क्षेत्र में यह गश्त होनी थी, वह न केवल बेहद दुर्गम है, बल्कि रास्ते न होने के कारण हिमखंडों से ढकी पर्वत श्रृंखलाओं में पर्वतारोहण कर जाना होता है। लिहाजा यह गश्त जोखिम वाली मानी जाती है। इस गश्त के चयनित 12-सदस्यीय टीम में तीन महिला कर्मी व तीन पोर्टर शामिल थे। टीम को गश्त के लिए रवाना करते हुए वन क्षेत्रधिकारी चेतना कांडपाल ने महिला कर्मियों को पर्वतारोहण के जोखिम से अवगत कराते हुए दिक्कत होने पर वापस लौटने की भी सलाह दी थी। वन दारोगा रोशनी नेगी ने बताया कि पहली बार दुर्गम क्षेत्र की गश्त में शामिल होने पर उन्हें दिक्कतों का अंदेशा था। लेकिन, जब गश्त पर गईं तो सात दिन ऐसे कट गए, जैसे हम किसी साधारण राह से गुजर रहे हैं। धराशी पास में नंदा देवी पर्वत की सहायक चोटियों पर बर्फ की ढाल से गुजरते हुए हम हंसते-हंसते मंजिल तक पहुंचे।

फारेस्ट गार्ड ममता कनवासी बताती हैं कि बिना रास्ते के दुर्गम क्षेत्र में पहाड़ियों पर चढ़ना व ढाल से उतरना एक नया अनुभव था। लेकिन, वन्य जीवों की सुरक्षा को ली गई शपथ पूरा करते हुए यह सब सामान्य लगा। फारेस्ट गार्ड दुर्गा सती कहती हैं कि उनका बचपन पहाड़ियों पर उतरते-चढ़ते ही बीता। लेकिन, उन पहाड़ियों पर पगडंडियां होती थी। जबकि, यह इलाका बेहद दुर्गम था, लेकिन इस पर खतरों के साथ आगे बढ़ने का हौसला मिला। इससे पूर्व केदारनाथ वन्य जीव प्रभाग में भी रेंजर सहित महिला फारेस्ट गार्ड लंबी दूरी की गश्त कर चुकी हैं।
