देहरादून। मुख्यमंत्री तीरथ सिंह रावत ने शहीद मेजर विवेक गुप्ता प्राथमिक विद्यालय कांवली, देहरादून में डॉ. श्यामाप्रसाद मुखर्जी के बलिदान दिवस के अवसर पर आयोजित कार्यक्रम में प्रतिभाग किया। मुख्यमंत्री ने डॉ. श्यामाप्रसाद मुखर्जी के चित्र पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित कर उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि दी।

मुख्यमंत्री तीरथ सिंह रावत ने कहा कि डॉ. श्यामाप्रसाद मुखर्जी, शिक्षाविद, चिंतक और जनसंघ के संस्थापक थे। वे मानवता के उपासक एवं सिद्धांतवादी थे। डॉ. मुखर्जी देश के प्रथम उद्योग मंत्री थे। राष्ट्रीय हितों की प्रतिबद्धता को अपनी सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता मानने के कारण उन्होंने मंत्रिमंडल से त्यागपत्र दे दिया। बहुत कम उम्र में वे कलकत्ता विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति बन गए थे।

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि डॉ॰ मुखर्जी जम्मू कश्मीर को भारत का पूर्ण और अभिन्न अंग बनाना चाहते थे। जम्मू कश्मीर का अलग झण्डा और अलग संविधान था। धारा-370 को समाप्त करने की उन्होंने वकालत की। प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने जम्मू कश्मीर से धारा 370 एवं 35A समाप्त कर उनके सपने को साकार किया। आज जम्मू और कश्मीर विकास की मुख्य धारा से जुड़े हैं।

मुख्यमंत्री ने इस अवसर पर शहीद मेजर विवेक गुप्ता के चित्र पर पुष्प अर्पित कर श्रद्धांजलि दी।

इस अवसर पर विधायक  हरवंश कपूर, भाजपा के प्रदेश प्रवक्ता  विनय गोयल, पार्षद  अर्चना पुंडीर,  सुभम नेगी,  अमित कपूर,  दिनेश रावत आदि उपस्थित थे।
