नैनीताल। एक तरफ आपातकाल में उन पर जुल्म किया जा रहा था तो दूसरी तरफ शेर योगराज पासी भारत माता की जय बोल रहे थे। बेतहाशा जुल्मकर पासी को झुकाना सरकार का मकसद था, वहीं पासी की सोच अधिक से अधिक लोगों को जगाने की थी। आपातकाल के दौरान मीसा व डीआइआर कानून के तहत करीब 19 माह जेल में बंद रहे वयोवृद्ध योगराज पासी ने कहा कि आपातकाल का जख्‍म आज भी हरा है।

बताया कि जून 1975 में इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट ने रायबरेली लोकसभा सीट से इंदिरा गांधी की जीत को अवैध करार दे दिया। इसके बाद देश में आंतरिक आपातकाल थोप दिया गया। जिस वक्त देश में इमरजेंसी लगी, उस समय वह बरेली में अपना उपचार करा रहे थे। एक माह बाद लौटे। कार्यकर्ता शाखा में जाने के लिए उनके पास आते थे। संघ के आदेश पर वह अपना काम भी करते थे। कार्यकर्ता दमन को लेकर चिंतित थे, लेकिन हौसले बुलंद थे। रात में उनके यहां से स्टेंसिल मशीन से पंपलेट बनते और सुबह ट्रेनों, बसों में गोपाल कोच्छड़ आदि बांट आते थे। गुप्तचर विभाग उन्हें बीमार जान कुछ दिन शांत रहा।

वाल्मीकि जयंती के उपलक्ष्य में नगर में शोभायात्रा निकाली जा रही थी और वह अपनी दुकान पर बैठे थे। तय किया दमन के खिलाफ जयंती के दौरान मौका मिलने पर जानकारी दी जाएगी, लेकिन शोभायात्रा के आगे जाते ही शाम के समय अचानक विजयपाल सिंह दारोगा व दो-तीन सिपाही दुकान पर पहुंच गए और नाम पूछने के साथ ही पीटते हुए थाने ले गए। अगले दिन डीआइआर के तहत आरोपित बनाते हुए जेल में बंद कर दिया गया। तीन माह 22 दिन बाद जमानत मिल गई।

बाहर आए तो उनके साथ जेल में बंद अल्मोड़ा के संघ प्रचारक सुरेश पांडेय ने एक पत्र देकर किसी को देने की बात कही। घर आकर पत्र देने चल पड़े। अल्मोड़ा पहुंचकर जिस व्यक्ति से उन्होंने पता पूछा, वह सीआइडी का दारोगा निकला। किसी तरह बचकर निकल आए। अपनी डीआइआर की तारीख पर जुलाई 1976 में नैनीताल कोर्ट पंहुचते ही राष्ट्र विरोधी गतिविधियां संचालित करने के आरोप में बंद कर दिया गया और अगले ही दिन मीसा लगाने की जानकारी दी गई। 1977 में आम चुनाव की घोषणा हो गई और सभी जेल बंदियों को रिहा कर दिया गया।

योगराज पासी का जन्म ननकाना साहिब ग्राम घोड़ा चक (वर्तमान में पाकिस्तान) में हुआ। कक्षा चार तक की पढ़ाई गांव के प्राथमिक विद्यालय जबकि आगे की चक नंबर-सात में हुई। इस बीच आजादी की लड़ाई को लेकर बच्चे अक्सर तिरंगे के साथ प्रदर्शन करते थे। संघ प्रचारक रामनाथ ने प्रेरणा देकर संघ का कार्यकर्ता बनाया। ऐसे में शाखा में जाने लगे। तीन जून 1947 को बंटवारे के चलते उनका गांव पाकिस्तान में चला गया। वह खून-खराबे के बीच अपने पिता जयराम व अन्य परिजनों, ग्रामीणों के साथ खून का मंजर देखते हुए पैदल काफिले के माध्यम से अमृतसर आ गए। पढ़ाई आदि करने तथा वहां कोई रोजगार नहीं मिलने पर अपने एक पहचान वाले के बुलावे पर मेरठ आ गए। यहां रिक्शा चलाकर जीवन का निर्वहन किया, लेकिन संघ का कार्य करते रहे। स्थिति सुधरने पर 60 के दशक में तराई में आ गए। यहां भी संघ की कार्यशाला शुरू कर लोगों को जोड़ा।
