उत्तरकाशी। अरुणाचल प्रदेश और असम का राज्य पुष्प फाक्सटेल आर्किड इन दिनों उत्तरकाशी के मांगली बरसाली गांव में भी महक रहा है। इस फूल को हिंदी में द्रौपदीमाला कहते हैं। इस पुष्प को धार्मिक, औषधीय और सांस्कृतिक विरासत का प्रतीक भी माना जाता है। धार्मिक महत्व को देखते हुए उत्तराखंड के वन महकमे ने भी इसे सहेजने की योजना बनाई है। पुष्प को वन अनुसंधान केंद्र ने हल्द्वानी स्थित एफटीआइ नर्सरी में खिलाकर संरक्षित किया है।

उत्तरकाशी जिला मुख्यालय से 12 किमी दूर मांगली गांव में एक अखरोट के पेड़ पर यह पुष्प खिला है, जो बेहद ही खूबसूरत है और आने-जाने वाले ग्रामीणों व अतिथियों को आकर्षित कर रहा है। मंगली बरसाली गांव निवासी एवं गंगा विचार मंच के प्रदेश संयोजक लोकेंद्र सिंह बिष्ट ने कहा कि द्रौपदीमाला का फूल इतना सुंदर और आकर्षक होता है कि इसे असम और अरुणाचल प्रदेश ने इसे अपना राज्यपुष्प घोषित कर रखा है।

मान्यता है कि द्रौपदी इन फूलों को माला के तौर पर इस्तेमाल करती थीं। इस वजह से इसे द्रौपदीमाला कहा जाता है। वनवास के दौरान सीता से भी इसके जुड़ाव की मान्यता है। यहीं वजह है कि महाराष्ट्र में इसे सीतावेणी नाम से पुकारा जाता है। लोकेंद्र सिंह बिष्ट बताते हैं कि मांगली गांव में अखरोट के पेड़ पर द्रौपदीमाला का पौधा पिछले दस वर्षों से है। इस पौधे पर हर बार फूल खिलते हैं। लेकिन, इस पौधे के अलावा पूरे क्षेत्र में दूसरा पौधा नजर नहीं आया है। इसके बारे में स्थानीय ग्रामीणों को भी कोई जानकारी नहीं है। जबकि, वियतनाम, मलेशिया, इंडोनेशिया व भारत के अरुणाचल प्रदेश, असम व बंगाल में ये बहुतायत में प्राकृतिक रूप से उगता है।

डा. ऋचा बधानी (असिस्टेंट प्रोफेसर, वनस्पति विज्ञान, पीजी कालेज उत्तरकाशी) का कहना है कि फाक्सटेल आर्किड अधिपादप श्रेणी का पौधा है। जो अखरोट, बांज और अन्य पेड़ों के तने, शाखाएं, दरारों, कोटरों, छाल आदि में मौजूद मिट्टी में उपज जाते हैं। लेकिन, ये पौधा परजीवी नहीं है। इसका बीज बेहद ही सूक्ष्म होता है, जो कई किलोमीटर तक हवा में ट्रेवल करता है। उत्तरकाशी के मांगली गांव में इस पौधे का बीज हवा से ही पहुंचा होगा। साथ ही अखरोट के पेड़ पर इस पौधे के पनपने के लिए अनुकूल स्थिति मिली होगी। फाक्सटेल आर्किड के पौधे आसानी से पनपते नहीं हैं। इनके लिए अनुकूल वातावरण की जरूरत होती है।
