देहरादून: भले ही गुरुवार को दिन में शहर में बारिश थमी रही, मगर रात होते-होते बिंदाल नदी का जलस्तर नहीं थमने से गांधीग्राम स्थित सत्तोवाली घाटी में पानी का कहर टूट पड़ा। पर्वतीय इलाकों में हुई भारी बारिश से रात करीब साढ़े नौ बजे ऊफनाई बिंदाल नदी पर सत्तोवाली घाटी में बने पुश्ते का बड़ा हिस्सा टूट गया। जिसके चलते करीब एक दर्जन मकान पूरी तरह से ध्वस्त हो गए, जबकि करीब 50 मकानों में काफी नुकसान हुआ।
मकानों में दीवारों पर दरारें आ गईं व फर्श तक टूट गए। गनीमत रही कि इस दौरान जनहानि नहीं हुई। घटना की सूचना पर पहुंचा पुलिस-प्रशासन राहत और बचाव कार्य में जुट गया। ऐहतियात के तौर पर प्रशासन ने आसपास के करीब साठ मकान खाली करा दिए व प्रभावित परिवारों को नगर निगम के रैन बसेरों, धर्मशालाओं व सरकारी स्कूलों में शिफ्ट कर दिया। नगर के महापौर सुनील उनियाल गामा व क्षेत्रीय विधायक हरबंस कपूर भी देर रात तक वहीं डटे रहे और राहत कार्यों का जानकारी लेते रहे। जिलाधिकारी डा. आर राजेश कुमार ने बताया कि प्रभावित परिवार सुरक्षित स्थानों पर शिफ्ट कर दिए गए हैं।
सत्तोवाली घाटी के निवासी सुरेंद्र कुमार ने बताया कि वैसे तो अमूमन लोग रात करीब नौ बजे खाना-पीना कर टीवी देखते हैं और उसके बाद सो जाते हैं, लेकिन जब बरसात के दिन होते हैं तो वे सतर्क रहते हैं व जाग कर रातें काटते हैं। उसने बताया कि दिन में बारिश तो नहीं आई लेकिन बिंदाल नदी का जलस्तर कम नहीं हुआ। दरअसल, जब शहर के ऊपरी पर्वतीय क्षेत्रों में बारिश होती है तो बिंदाल नदी ऊफान पर रहती है और सत्तोवाली घाटी इसी के दोनों छोर पर बसी है। सुरेंद्र ने बताया कि अचानक रात करीब साढ़े नौ बजे नदी उफान पर आने से पुश्ते का एक बड़ा हिस्सा गिर गया।
गनीमत यह रही कि उस दौरान सभी लोग चौकस थे व सुरक्षित स्थान पर खड़े थे। देखते ही देखते करीब एक दर्जन मकान ध्वस्त हो गए और बाकी मकानों में दरारें पड़ गईं। नदी का तेज बहाव काफी अंदर तक पहुंच गया। मकान ध्वस्त होते व टूटते देख लोग इधर से उधर बच्चों को गोद में लेकर दौड़ पड़े व पुलिस प्रशासन को सूचना दी। इसके बाद राहत व बचाव कार्य शुरू हुआ।
पुलिया टूटने से मुसीबत और बढ़ी
बिंदाल नदी के ऊफान पर आने से सिर्फ पुश्ता ही नहीं टूटा, बल्कि एक पुलिया तक बह गई। पुलिया बहने से प्रशासन की टीमों को राहत व बचाव कार्य में काफी परेशानी उठानी पड़ी। नदी के एक छोर से दूसरे छोर पर जाने के लिए सीढ़ी लगाकर नदी में से होकर जाना पड़ा। वहीं, रात करीब 11 बजे बारिश शुरू होने से राहत कार्य में मुश्किलों का सामना करना पड़ा।
जिसे जो मिला, बचाकर भागा
नदी के कहर से बचने के लिए जिसे जो सामान मिला वह लेकर भाग निकला। इस दौरान कुछ लोग अपने बच्चों को बचाने के लिए गोद में लेकर भागे तो कुछ सामान को बचाने की जिद्दोजहद में जुटे रहे। किसी ने कहा कि उसका टीवी बह गया तो किसी ने फ्रिज बताया। लाखों रुपये का सामान बहने की बात कही जा रही। सुरक्षित स्थानों पर शिफ्ट किए गए लोग रोते-बिलखते रहे कि अब वे कहां रहेंगे और खान-पान की कैसे व्यवस्था करेंगे।
