हाईकोर्ट नैनीताल ने द्वाराहाट विधायक महेश नेगी सेक्स स्कैंडल मामले में सुनवाई की। कोर्ट ने सरकार को पांच अक्तूबर तक मामले की जांच रिपोर्ट शपथ पत्र के साथ प्रस्तुत करने के निर्देश दिए हैं। मामले की सुनवाई न्यायमूर्ति न्यायाधीश आरसी खुल्बे की एकलपीठ में हुई। मंगलवार को सुनवाई के दौरान विपक्षी वकील ने कोर्ट को बताया कि अभी तक मामले की जांच रिपोर्ट कोर्ट में पेश नहीं की गई है।पीड़िता की तरफ से एक बार फिर विधायक महेश नेगी की डीएनए जांच करवाने की मांग कोर्ट के समक्ष रखी गई। साथ ही कोर्ट से निवेदन किया गया कि पूर्व में दिये गए स्टे ऑर्डर को भी निरस्त किया जाए। पीड़िता ने छह सितंबर 2020 को देहरादून पुलिस को एक प्रार्थना पत्र देकर कहा है कि विधायक महेश नेगी ने उनका यौन शोषण किया है। अब पति- पत्नी उसे जान से मारने की धमकी भी दे रहे हैं। याचिका में यह भी कहा गया है कि इस मामले की जांच कर रहे दो विवेचना अधिकारी (आईओ) भी सरकार ने बदल दिये हैं।
