हल्द्वानी : वीरभट्टी पुल के आज खुलने की पूरी संभावना है। पिछले तीन दिन से इस रास्ते से आवागमन पूरी तरह ठप है। जिससे यात्रियों व मालवाहनों दोनों को दिक्कत का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। रोडवेज, केमू, टैक्सी के अलावा ट्रक संचालकों द्वारा भी किराया बढ़ा दिया गया। क्योंकि, भवाली तक पहुंचने के लिए उन्हें वाया नैनीताल लंबा सफर करके निकलना पड़ रहा है। एनएच के ईई सुनील कुमार के मुताबिक मौसम के साथ देने पर पूरी उम्मीद है कि आज पुल को चालू कर दिया जाएगा।

शुक्रवार रात वीरभट्टी पुल के पास पहाड़ी से मलबा आ गया था। सुबह के वक्त फिर से भारी मात्रा में मिट्टी आ गई। जिस वजह से यह मार्ग वाहनों के लिए बंद हो गया। बिजली की लाइन शिफ्ट होने के बाद एनएच ने बुलडोजर की मदद से मलबा निकालने का काम शुरू किया। लेकिन बारिश की वजह से जो पहाड़ी का हिस्सा पहले चिपका था। वो अब धूप के कारण धीरे-धीरे फिर से सड़क पर आने लग गया। जिस वजह से पुल खुलवाने में दिक्कत का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। हालांकि, एनएच को उम्मीद है कि आज रास्ता खुल जाएगा।

भीमताल पुल पर बड़े वाहन नहीं

वीरभट्टी पुल के किसी भी वजह से बंद होने पर पहाड़ जाने के लिए रानीबाग स्थित एचएमटी का पुल जरिया बनता था। लेकिन वहां पर नए पुल का निर्माण कार्य चल रहा है। अनुबंध के मुताबिक अप्रैल 2022 तक काम पूरा किया जाना चाहिए। वहीं, एक माह पहले भूस्खलन की वजह से दस फीट सड़क टूट गई थी। लोनिवि ने मरम्मत का काम तो पूरा कर दिया। लेकिन बड़े वाहनों को यहां से एंट्री नहीं है।
