नैनीताल: नैनीताल में नगरपालिका की ओर से संचालित ई रिक्शा का ट्रायल पूरी तरह सफल हो गया है। शहर की माल रोड में चार ई रिक्शा का संचालन सुचारु रूप से होने के बाद अब इनकी संख्या चार से बढ़ाकर दस करने की तैयारी है। जल्द इस संबंध में पालिका की बैठक होनी है। यही नहीं पुराना बस स्टेशन पर ई रिक्शा का नया स्टैंड भी प्रस्तावित किया गया है।
नैनीताल की माल रोड पर ब्रिटिशराज से ही रिक्शा संचालन होता है। नगरपालिका की ओर से बकायदा रिक्शा लाइसेंस जारी किए गए हैं। रिक्शा मालिकों ने रिक्शा किराए पर दिए हैं। रिक्शा लाइसेंस धारकों में रसूखदार भी शामिल हैं। जनहित संगठन के संघर्ष व हाईकोर्ट में मामला पहुंचने के बाद शहर में ई रिक्शा संचालन का मार्ग प्रसस्त हुआ। यहां रिक्शा टिकट के लिए चमड़े का टोकन दिया जाता था, अब टिकट दिया जाने लगा। एक रिक्शा में दो सवारी का 20 रुपये किराया तय है। पिछले माह शहर में चार ई रिक्शा का संचालन शुरू किया गया। जिसको पालिकाध्यक्ष सचिन नेगी व ईओ अशोक कुमार वर्मा ने झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया।
अब दस ई रिक्शा चलाने की तैयारी
ईओ अशोक कुमार वर्मा के अनुसार ई रिक्शा को लेकर पब्लिक के शानदार फीडबैक को देखते हुए अब इनकी संख्या दस करने का प्रस्ताव है। यही नहीं पुराना बस स्टैंड पर ई रिक्शा स्टैंड बनाने का भी प्रस्ताव है जबकि मल्लीताल में कैपिटल सिनेमा के पास स्टैंड तय है। उन्होंने कहा कि ई रिक्शा को रिक्शा यूनियन के माध्यम से ही चलाया जाएगा। जो ई रिक्शा खरीदेंगे उन्हें नैनीताल बैंक से सात प्रतिशत ब्याज दर पर ऋण दिलाया जाएगा। पालिका सिर्फ शहरवासियों को सुविधाएं प्रदान करने के मकसद से यह काम कर रही है।
