हल्द्वानी : मानसून सीजन में जंगलों की सुरक्षा को लेकर महकमा अलर्ट है। रामनगर डिवीजन की फतेहपुर रेंज को दुर्गम भी माना जाता है। क्योंकि, मैदानी और पहाड़ी दोनों क्षेत्र का जंगल इसके हिस्से में आता है। इस रेंज में वनकर्मी रोज 15 किमी पैदल गश्त कर रहे हैं। इस दौरान जंगल क्षेत्र में दिखने वाले संदिग्धों से पूछताछ के बाद ही उन्हें छोड़ा जाता है। पांच लोगों का अब तक चालान भी किया जा चुका है।

तराई के जंगलों को बारिश के दिनों में काफी संवेदनशील माना जाता है। जंगल घने होने के कारण तस्करों की सक्रियता बढ़ जाती है। इससे लकड़ी और वन्यजीवों पर खतरा मंडराने लगता है। इसलिए वनकर्मी पैदल गश्त कर जंगल की सुरक्षा करते हैं। डिप्टी रेंजर फतेहपुर किशोर गोस्वामी ने बताया कि रोजाना कम से कम 15 किमी का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।

तराई के जंगलों में ज्यादा गंभीरता

मानसून सीजन के दौरान वैसे तो सभी डिवीजनों में अलर्ट जारी कर गश्त को लेकर विशेष ध्यान देने को कहा जाता है। लेकिन पहाड़ की बजाय मैदानी जंगल में तस्करों की सक्रियता की आशंका ज्यादा रहती है। रास्ते टूटने के कारण वनकर्मियों की गाड़ी भी कई बार नहीं पहुंच पाती। यही वजह है कि पैदल गश्त का फार्मूला अपनाया जाता है।

कई चौकियों में रसद पहुंचाई

मैदानी जंगल की कई रेंज ऐसी भी है जहां वन चौकियां बेहद दुर्गम जगहों पर है। बारिश या आपदा की स्थिति में वनकर्मी को यहां रहने के लिए ज्यादा संघर्ष न करना पड़े। इसलिए एडंवास में कच्चा राशन व अन्य सामान पहुंचा दिया गया है।
