देहरादून। पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री एवं प्रदेश कांग्रेस चुनाव अभियान समिति के अध्यक्ष हरीश रावत ने कहा कि वह उत्तराखंड में भी एक दिन अनुसूचित जाति के व्यक्ति को मुख्यमंत्री पद पर देखना चाहते हैं। पार्टी इस लक्ष्य को हासिल करने के लिए काम करेगी।
रावत ने यह टिप्पणी हरिद्वार में परिवर्तन यात्रा को संबोधित करते हुए की। पंजाब कांग्रेस के प्रभारी हरीश रावत ने कहा कि पार्टी ने पंजाब में अनुसूचित जाति से एक बेटे को मुख्यमंत्री बनाकर इतिहास रच दिया है। इतिहास में ऐसे अवसर कम आते हैं। जब आते हैं तो अनुकरणीय होते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि यह इतिहास सिर्फ पंजाब में नहीं, बल्कि पूरे उत्तरी भारत में रचा गया है। वह भगवान और मां गंगा से प्रार्थना करते हैं कि उनके जीवन में भी यह क्षण आए जब वह एक अनुसूचित जाति व शिल्पकार के बेटे को मुख्यमंत्री बनने का मौका मिले। अवसर मिलेगा तो हम प्रतिदान देंगे। कांग्रेस इस वर्ग की आकांक्षा के साथ चलेगी।
गोदियाल ने किया हरदा का समर्थन
उधर, प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष गणेश गोदियाल ने भी हरीश रावत के इस वक्तव्य का समर्थन किया। उन्होंने कहा कि दबे-कुचले वर्ग की कांग्रेस के साथ हमेशा से हमदर्दी रही है। किसी भी वर्ग से ऐसे व्यक्ति को मौका मिलना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि हरीश रावत हमारे नेता हैं। उन्होंने जो कहा है, उसके सिर्फ सियासत के नजरिये से निहितार्थ नहीं निकाले जाने चाहिए।
