उत्तराखंड के परिवहन कारोबारियों को पूरे साल में कभी भी अपनी गाड़ी सरेंडर करने की सुविधा मिलने जा रही है। मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी के निर्देश पर परिवहन विभाग ने सरेंडर पॉलिसी में बदलाव का खाका तैयार कर लिया है।  उप परिवहन आयुक्त एसके सिंह ने इसकी पुष्टि करते हुए बताया कि नई सरेंडर पॉलिसी का प्रस्ताव सरकार को भेज दिया है।

इसके अनुसार, कॉमर्शियल वाहन का मालिक अपने वाहन को एक साल में पहली बार छह महीने के लिए एक साथ सरेंडर कर सकेगा। विशेष परिस्थितियों में उसे एक बार फिर वाहन को छह महीने तक सरेंडर करने की छूट मिलेगी। सूत्रों के अनुसार, वर्ष 2012 तक उत्तराखंड में वाहनों की सरेंडर नीति बेहद सरल थी। वाहन मालिक अपने वाहनों को लंबी अवधि तक सरेंडर कर सकते थे।
