ऋषिकेश। केंद्रीय रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह वायुसेना के विशेष विमान से 10:42 बजे जौलीग्रांट एयरपोर्ट पहुंचे। एयरपोर्ट पहुंचने पर मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी और अन्य भाजपा नेताओं ने उनका जोरदार स्वागत किया। जिसके बाद राजनाथ सिंह एयरपोर्ट पर पहले से मौजूद हेलीकाप्टर में सवार होकर पौड़ी के लिए रवाना हुए।

पीठसैंण पेशावर कांड के नायक व स्वाधीनता संग्राम सैनानी वीर चंद्र सिंह गढ़वाली का पैतृक गांव है। रक्षामंत्री गढ़वाली की पुण्यतिथि पर आयोजित स्मृति कार्यक्रम में मूर्ति का अनावरण करने के साथ ही यहां बने स्मारक का लोकार्पण कर श्रद्धासुमन अर्पित करेंगे। कार्यक्रम में शहीद सैनिकों के परिजनों एवं वीर चंद्र गढ़वाली के परिजनों को भी रक्षा मंत्री सम्मानित किया जा रहा है। एयरपोर्ट पर मुख्यमंत्री के अलावा सांसद केंद्रीय रक्षा राज्य मंत्री अजय भट्ट, काबिना मंत्री सुबोध उनियाल, गणेश जोशी, हरक सिंह रावत आदि ने भी स्वागत किया।

वीर चंद्र सिंह गढ़वाली की पुण्यतिथि के लिए सजा पीठसैंण

पेशावर कांड के महानायक वीरचंद्र सिंह गढ़वाली की पुण्यतिथि को लेकर पीठसैंण स्थित आयोजन स्थल को भव्य रूप से सजा दिया गया है। शुक्रवार को केंद्रीय रक्षामंत्री राजनाथ सिंह यहां गढ़वाली की प्रतिमा का अनावरण व स्मारक का लोकार्पण करेंगे। इसके लिए यहां शासन-प्रशासन की ओर से व्यापक तैयारियां की गई हैं। गुरुवार को जिलाधिकारी डा. विजय कुमार जोगदंडे ने आयोजन स्थल पहुंच तैयारियों का जायजा लिया।

जनपद के विकासखंड थलीसैंण से करीब 21 किमी की दूरी पर स्थित है पीठसैंण। यह क्षेत्र पेशावर कांड के महानायक रहे वीर चंद्र सिंह गढ़वाली की जन्मस्थली है।

शुक्रवार को गढ़वाली की पुण्यतिथि है। इस दौरान यहां निर्मित स्मारक व प्रतिमा का अनावरण होना है। ग्रामीण परिवेश वाले इस क्षेत्र में आयोजन को भव्य रूप देने के लिए पिछले कुछ दिनों से श्रीनगर विधानसभा के विधायक व सूबे के उच्च शिक्षामंत्री डा. धन सिंह रावत यहां डेरा डाले हुए हैं। इसके अलावा स्थानीय प्रशासन भी तैयारियों में जुटा है। आयोजन स्थल से कुछ दूरी पर ही हेलीपैड तैयार कर दिया गया है। सुरक्षा के लिहाज से सुरक्षा कर्मियों की तैनाती भी कर दी गई है। बताया गया कि आयोजन के दौरान लोक गायक नरेंद्र सिंह नेगी भी अपनी रंगारंग प्रस्तुतियां देंगे।
