रामनगर (नैनीताल) : आजकल शहरों के नाम बदलने में उप्र सरकार काफी चर्चा में रही है। वहीं उत्तराखंड में भी केंद्रीय राज्य मंत्री अश्विनी चौबे ने कार्बेट के नाम बदलने के नए विवाद को जन्म दिया है। हालांकि सीटीआर प्रशासन इसे लेकर गंभीर नहीं है। इस मामले में प्रदेश के वन मंत्री ने भी कार्बेट का नाम बदलने की बात से इंकार किया है। 

8 अगस्त 1936 में आज के कॉर्बेट पार्क को ‘हेली नेशनल पार्क’ का नाम दिया गया  था। यह नाम उस समय संयुक्त प्रान्त के गवर्नर मैलकम हेली के नाम पर रखा गया। आज़ादी के बाद 1954-55 में इसका नाम रामगंगा नेशनल पार्क रखा गया। इसी दौरान जिम कार्बेट की मृत्यु हो गई थी। जिम कार्बेट ने अपने जीवन इन्हीं इलाकों में बिताया था। जिम कार्बेट के योगदान को देखते हुए उनके सम्मान में वर्ष 1955-56 में पार्क को जिम कार्बेट नेशनल पार्क कर दिया गया। 

बीते रविवार को कार्बेट टाइगर रिजर्व में बाघ संरक्षण रैली के समापन के लिए आए केंद्रीय राज्य मंत्री अश्विनी चौबे को अधिकारियो ने कार्बेट के इतिहास की जानकारी दी। उन्हें बताया गया कि पार्क का नाम पहले हेली नेशनल पार्क बाद में रामगंगा फिर कार्बेट पड़ा। इस दौरान मंत्री ने धनगढ़ी की विजिटर बुक में भी पार्क को सुंदर बताते हुए रामगंगा नेशनल पार्क फिर जिम कार्बेट पार्क लिखा। उन्होंने प्रस्ताव भेजने को भी कहा। इसके बाद अधिकारियों ने मंत्री को जिम कार्बेट के पार्क के संरक्षण व वन्य जीवों के प्रति योगदान की जानकारी दी। सीटीआर के निदेशक राहुल ने बताया कि मंत्री ने नाम बदलने की चर्चा की थी। अभी  इस बारे में कोई विचार नहीं किया गया है। न कोई कार्रवाई की जा रही है। यदि राज्य मंत्री के कार्यालय से इस संबंध में कोई पहल होगी तो ही कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

बोले वन मंत्री

इस मामले में वन एवं पर्यावरण मंत्री डा हरक सिंह रावत का कहना है कि कार्बेट नेशनल पार्क का नाम बदलने को लेकर सरकार की कोई तैयारी नहीं है। वैसे भी जिम कार्बेट के नाम से इस पार्क की राष्ट्रीय, अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर पहचान है। ऐसे में नाम बदलने का कोई प्रश्न ही नहीं उठता।

इतना आसान नहीं नाम बदलना

पर्यटन कारोबारियों का कहना है कि वन्य जीवों के संरक्षण में योगदान देने वाले जिम कार्बेट के नाम से ही पार्क प्रसिद्ध है। इसके लिए पूरा नोटिफिकेशन होता है। कार्बेट का नाम आज हर किसी की जुबान पर है। ऐसे में नाम बदलने की बात गले से नहीं उतरती है।
