अल्मोड़ा : जिले के लमगड़ा विकास खंड सिल्पड़ निवासी हिमानी बिष्ट आर्मी में लेफ्टिनेंट बन गई हैं। उन्होंने ऑफिसर्स ट्रेनिंग अकादमी ओटीए चेन्नई में प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त कर द इंडियन आर्मी में कमीशन प्राप्त कर लिया है। उनके चयन से गांव में जश्‍न का माहौल है।

सिल्पड़ निवासी हिमानी बिष्ट आर्मी में लेफ्टिनेंट बन गई हैं। वह सेवानिवृत्त हवालदार ध्यान सिंह बिष्ट व बैजंती बिष्ट की पुत्री हैं। उन्होंने स्कूली शिक्षा आर्मी पब्लिक स्कूल क्लेमेंट टाउन देहरादून से उत्तीर्ण की। स्नातक (बीएससी आइटी) और परास्नातक (एमसीए) ग्राफिक एरा हिल यूनिर्विसटी देहरादून से पूरी की।

हिमानी का कहना है कि आर्मी में भर्ती होकर देश सेवा करने का सपना, जो उन्होंने बचपन से संजोया था, वह पूरा हो गया है। उन्होंने इस उपलब्धि का श्रेय अपने माता-पिता व गुरुजनों को दिया है। उनकी छोटी बहन शिवानी देहरादून से एमसीए तो भाई हेमंत बिष्ट ने 12वीं की परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण की है। हिमानी की इस उपलब्धि पर क्षेत्र के लोगों में हर्ष है।

बता दें कि संघ लोक सेवा आयोग की ओर आयोजित एनडीए की परीक्षा में पहली बार लड़कों के साथ ही लड़कियां भी शामिल हुईं। आधी आबादी को भी एनडीए परीक्षा में शामिल होने का अवसर मिल गया है। भले ही परीक्षा की तैयारी के लिए लड़कियों को लड़कों से कम समय मिला हो लेकिन उत्साह और आत्मविश्वास में लड़कियां कहीं ज्यादा आगे रहीं।
