कांग्रेस के पूर्व राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी की 16 दिसंबर को देहरादून में प्रस्तावित रैली के लिए परेड ग्राउंड का चयन किया गया है। पार्टी की ओर से इसके लिए जिला प्रशासन से अनुमति के लिए आवेदन कर दिया गया है। इससे पूर्व स्थान चयन के लिए प्रदेश प्रभारी देवेंद्र यादव सहित दूसरे नेताओं ने रेसकोर्स स्थित बन्नू स्कूल ग्राउंड का भी मुआयना किया। आखिर में परेड ग्राउंड का चयन किया गया।

रैली को सफल बनाने के लिए रविवार को दिनभर पार्टी के शीर्ष नेताओं की बैठकों का दौर चलता रहा। कांग्रेस प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की रैली के जवाब में राहुल गांधी की रैली 16 दिसंबर को विजय दिवस के अवसर पर देहरादून में आयोजित करने जा रही है।

बांग्लादेश निर्माण के दौरान युद्ध में भारत की पाकिस्तान पर ऐतिहासिक विजय दिवस की 50वीं वर्षगांठ पर आयोजित होने वाली इस रैली में पूर्व सैनिकों और शहीद सैनिकों के परिजनों को प्रियदर्शनी सैन्य सम्मान देकर सम्मानित किया जाएगा। राज्य में चुनाव से पहले राहुल का यह पहला दौरा होगा। 

इस संबंध में प्रदेश अध्यक्ष गणेश गोदियाल ने बताया कि नौ दिसंबर को विधानसभा में सत्र आयोजित किया जाएगा। इससे पहले आठ दिसंबर को सीएलपी की बैठक भी है। जिसमें सभी विधायक शामिल होंगे। इसी दौरान राहुल गांधी की रैली की तैयारियों को लेकर निर्णायक बैठक आयोजित की जाएगी। उन्होंने कहा रविवार को रैली की तैयारियों को लेकर स्थान चयन के साथ प्राथमिक मुद्दों पर बातचीत की गई। जिसमें वरिष्ठ नेताओं ने अपने विचार प्रस्तुत किए।
