भवाली : राज्यपाल हेलिकॉप्टर से गुरुवार को नैनीताल, भवाली के सैनिक स्कूल घोड़ाखाल पहुंचे। यहां उन्होंने विद्यालय के प्रथम गेट के पास बने शक्ति स्मारक का उद्घाटन किया। उन्होंने कहा कि शक्ति स्त्री को कहा गया है। सैनिक स्कूल में लड़कियों के लिए दरवाजे खुलने से वह यहां से निकलकर एनडीएम में अपनी प्रतिभा का परिचय देंगी। इस दौरान विद्यालय के कैडेटों ने उन्हें गॉर्ड ऑफ ऑनर दिया। उन्होंने विद्यालय की उपलब्धियों की सराहना की। राज्यपाल की सुरक्षा में पुलिस बल तैनात रहा।

गुरुवार की सुबह राज्यपाल गुरमीत सिंह हेलिकॉप्टर से सैनिक स्कूल घोड़ाखाल पहुंचे। यहां पर विद्यालय प्रबंधन ने उनका स्वागत किया। इसके बाद उन्होंने स्कूल में शहीदों की याद में बनाए गए ‘शक्ति स्मारक’ का उद्घाटन किया। कैडेटों ने उनके सम्मान में गॉर्ड ऑफ आनर दिया। राज्यपाल गुरमीत सिंह ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने देश की बेटियो को भी सैनिक स्कूल में पढ़ने का मौका दिया। आज वो समय आ गया है, जब सैनिक स्कूलों में बेटिया पढ़ने लगी हैं। यकीनन एक दिन यहां से पढ़कर बेटियां एक मिसाल कायम करेंगी। भारतीय सेना में देश की रक्षा करेंगी।

उन्होंने सैनिक स्कूल घोड़ाखाल की उपलब्धियों की सराहना की। कहा कि सैनिक स्कूल घोड़ाखाल ने देश को कई सैन्य अफसर व 6 लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल दिए है। साथ ही विद्यालय के नाम कई अन्य कीर्तिमान भी स्थापित है। उन्होंने कहा सैनिक स्कूल से युवाओं को सेना से जुड़ने की प्रेरणा मिलती है।

विजय दिवस की दी बधाई

राज्यपाल सिंह ने उत्तराखंड को सैन्य धाम बताया। उन्होंने 16 दिसंबर विजय दिवस की सभी को शुभकामनाएं भी दी। कहा कि आज के दिन पाकिस्तान को 2 टुकड़ो में बांट दिया गया। हमारे वीर सैनिकों ने पाकिस्तान के 93 हजार सैनिकों को घुटने टेकने को मजबूर किया जो कि इतिहास बना। विश्व में किसी देश के इतनी संख्या में सैनिकों ने आत्मसर्मपण नहीं किया है। आज भी देश व इस राज्य का एक-एक युवा देश की कुर्बानी के लिए तैयार रहता है।
