देहरादून। स्पेक्स संस्था के सचिव डा. बृजमोहन शर्मा को ‘एशिया सोशल इनोवेटर अवार्ड-2021’ मिला है। लंबे समय से उनकी ओर से चलाए जा रहे जल परीक्षण अभियान व खाद्य पदार्थों में मिलावट की जांच को लेकर चलाए जा रहे अभियान के लिए यह अवार्ड मिला है। इससे पहले भी उन्हें कई पुरस्कार मिल चुके हैं। भारत के विज्ञान व प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग से राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार, गवर्नर इनोवेशन अवार्ड-2018, लाइफटाइम अचीवमेंट अवार्ड आदि से वह सम्मानित हो चुके हैं। उनकी पहचान एक उत्साही पर्यावरणविद् के साथ ही विज्ञानी व इनोवेटर के रूप में भी होती है।

डा. शर्मा ने वर्ष 1990 में स्वेच्छा से जल परीक्षण अभियान शुरू किया। वहीं, 1996 में उन्होंने जागरूकता पैदा करने के साथ-साथ खाद्य मिलावट को रोकने के लिए परीक्षण अभियान शुरू किया। वर्ष 1994 में सोसायटी आफ पाल्यूशन एंड एंवायरमेंटल कंजर्वेशन साइंटिस्ट्स (स्पेक्स) संस्था बनाकर विज्ञान के लोकव्यापीकरण के क्षेत्र में कार्य शुरू किया। इसकी शुरुआत उन्होंने दूनघाटी में वायु प्रदूषण के बढ़ते स्तर के विज्ञानी प्रमाण सामने लाने से की।

इसके बाद उन्होंने देहरादून समेत चारधाम यात्रा मार्ग पर खाद्य पदार्थों में किए जा रहे मिलावट की जांच के लिए अभियान शुरू किया। साथ ही पीने के पानी की शुद्धता की जांच के लिए भी नियमित अभियान चलाया। बच्चों के बीच विज्ञान को लोकप्रिय बनाने के लिए भी उन्होंने कई कार्य किए हैं। साथ ही एलईडी बल्ब बनाकर आमजन को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने की दिशा में भी कार्य किया। डा. शर्मा अब तक वह साढ़े तीन सौ गांव में लोग को एलईडी बल्ब बनाने का प्रशिक्षण दे चुके हैं।
