कोटद्वार। पौड़ी गढ़वाल जिले के हल्दूखाता क्षेत्र में ट्रेचिंग ग्राउंड के लिए नगर निगम को वन भूमि मुहैया कराने के विरोध में सोमवार को हल्दूखाता और आसपास के क्षेत्र की जनता ने प्रदेश के वन और पर्यावरण मंत्री का काफिला रोक उनका घेराव किया। वन मंत्री हल्दूखाता में ऊर्जा निगम के 32 केवी नवनिर्मित विद्युत सब स्टेशन के लोकार्पण कार्यक्रम में शामिल होने जा रहे थे।

उत्तराखंड के वन और पर्यावरण मंत्री सोमवार को लालढांग-चिलरखाल वन मोटर मार्ग से होते हुए दोपहर करीब बारह बजे जैसे ही कंचनपुरी तिराहे पर पहुंचे, क्षेत्र की जनता ने उनका काफिला रोक घेराव कर दिया। क्षेत्रवासी हल्दूखाता में ट्रेचिंग ग्राउंड निर्माण का विरोध कर रहे थे। बताते चलें कि कोटद्वार नगर निगम ने ट्रेचिंग ग्राउंड के लिए हल्दूखाता क्षेत्र में करीब एक हेक्टेयर भूमि का चयन किया। वन मंत्री डा. हरक सिंह रावत के प्रयासों की बदौलत पिछले दिनों यह भूमि वन विभाग ने नगर निगम को हस्तांतरित कर दी। नगर निगम की ओर से इन दिनों ट्रेचिंग ग्राउंड के निर्माण को कार्ययोजना तैयार की जा रही है।

घेराव करने वाले क्षेत्रवासियों का कहना था कि सरकार ने पहले उन पर नगर निगम थोपा और अब उन पर ट्रेचिंग ग्राउंड थोप दिया गया है। उन्होंने कहा कि ट्रेचिंग ग्राउंड के निर्माण से क्षेत्र में गंदगी बढ़ जाएगी, जिससे क्षेत्र में बीमारियों के फैलने का डर भी बढ़ेगा। क्षेत्रीय जनता एकस्वर में ट्रेचिंग ग्राउंड के लिए आवंटित वन भूमि को निरस्त करने की मांग कर रही थी।

कैबिनेट मंत्री डा हरक सिंह रावत ने कहा कि ट्रेचिंग ग्राउंड के लिए भूमि आवंटित की जा चुकी है और अब इस मामले में कुछ नहीं हो सकता। इस पर आमजन भड़क गया और काबीना मंत्री के खिलाफ नारेबाजी करने लगा। प्रदर्शन करने वालों में पार्षद मनीष रावत, राजीव डबराल, प्रमोद रावत, योगेश प्रसाद धूलिया, वीरेंद्र भट्ट, सुनील मैंदोला, ललित धूलिया, मनोज भट्ट, सुरेंद्र भारद्वाज, विजेंद्र सहित कई अन्य मौजूद रहे।
