देश में कोरेाना संक्रमण में हो रही वृद्धि के मद्देनजर कांग्रेस ने राष्ट्रीय महासचिव प्रियंका गांधी वाड्रा की उत्तराखंड में प्रस्तावित रैलियां को स्थगित कर दिया। प्रियंका का नौ जनवरी को श्रीनगर और अल्मोड़ा में दो चुनावी रैलियों का कार्यक्रम था। कांग्रेस जोरशोर से रैलियों की तैयारी कर रही थी। प्रदेश अध्यक्ष गणेश गोदियाल ने बताया कि आज ही इस बाबत दिशानिर्देश प्राप्त हुए हैं।

हाईकमान ने कोरोना के संक्रमण को देखते हुए जनहित में सभी बड़ी चुनावी रैलियों को स्थगित करने का निर्णय किया है। कांग्रेस नहीं चाहती कि पार्टी की रैलियों की वजह से कोरोना संक्रमण के प्रसार की आंशका बढ़े। गोदियाल ने कहा कि कांग्रेस राष्ट्रीय महासचिव के निर्णय से सभी राजनीतिक दलों को सीख लेनी चाहिए।
