देहरादून। विधानसभा चुनाव में इस बार अनिवासी भारतीय, यानी एनआरआइ मतदाता भी अपने मत का प्रयोग करेंगे। प्रदेश में 35 एनआरआइ ने फार्म छह ए भरने के बाद मतदाता के रूप में अपना नाम दर्ज कराया है। इनमें 24 पुरुष और 11 महिला मतदाता शामिल हैं। मतदान के दौरान इनका पासपोर्ट मतदाता पहचान पत्र के रूप में मान्य होगा।

भारत निर्वाचन आयोग द्वारा यह व्यवस्था की गई है कि अनिवासी भारतीय भी मतदाता के रूप में पंजीकृत हो सकते हैं। इसके लिए अनिवासी भारतीयों को सुविधा दी गई है कि वह मतदाता सूची में अपना नाम दर्ज करा सकते हैं। इसके लिए उन्हें अपने मूल निवास स्थान से संबंधित दस्तावेज संबंधित निर्वाचन अधिकारी के समक्ष फार्म छह ए के साथ प्रस्तुत करने होते हैं। यह व्यवस्था वर्ष 2017 के विधानसभा चुनाव में भी थी लेकिन तब किसी अनिवासी भारतीय ने इसमें रुचि नहीं दिखाई थी।

इस विधानसभा चुनाव में पहली बार यह व्यवस्था प्रभावी हुई है। प्रदेश में मतदाता सूची बनाने के लिए चली प्रक्रिया में 35 एनआरआइ के सभी दस्तावेज सही और पूर्ण पाए जाने पर उनका नाम मतदाता सूची में दर्ज किया गया। अब ये सभी मतदान के लिए पात्र हो गए हैं। बशर्ते मतदान के दौरान ये उत्तराखंड में हों।

अपर मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी प्रताप शाह ने बताया कि अनिवासी भारतीय मतदाता बन सकते हैं। इस बार प्रदेश में 35 प्रवासी भारतीय मतदाता हैं। इन्हें मतदान के लिए मतदान केंद्र पर अपना पासपोर्ट पहचान दस्तावेज के रूप में दिखाना होगा।
