उत्तराखंड के राजनैतिक इतिहास में भाजपा ने नया अध्याय जोड़ा है। प्रदेश को रितु खंडूरी के रूप में पहली महिला स्पीकर मिली है। वहीं कुछ ही देर में परेड ग्राउंड में शपथ ग्रहण समारोह शुरू होगा। जिसमें प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह और भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष जेपी नड्डा मौजूद रहेंगे। 

उत्तराखंड के इतिहास में पहली बार महिला स्पीकर बनने जा रही है। भाजपा ने पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री बीसी खंडूरी की बेटी रितु खंडूरी को विधानसभा स्पीकर बनाए जाने का यह बड़ा फैसला लिया है। उत्तराखंड में भाजपा ने यह नया इतिहास लिखा है। रितु कोटद्वार से विधायक चुनकर आई हैं। उत्तराखंड विधानसभा चुनाव 2022 में कोटद्वार से उनकी यह जीत कई मायनों में खास रही है। कोटद्वार सीट से चुनाव जीतकर उन्होंने अपने पिता की हार का बदला लिया था। अब इसके साथ ही अब पहली महिला स्पीकर का बनकर इतिहास रच रही हैं।

रितु खंडूरी भूषण ने कांग्रेस के सुरेंद्र सिंह नेगी के खिलाफ 3687 वोटों के अंतर से जीत हासिल की। रितु दूसरी बार मैदान में उतरीं थीं। 2022 के विधानसभा चुनाव में रितु खंडूड़ी को बीजेपी ने आखिरी समय पर यमकेश्वर से हटाकर कोटद्वार सीट से प्रत्याशी बनाया था। 

ऋतु खंडूरी भूषण का जन्म नैनीताल में 29 जनवरी 1965 को एक फौजी परिवार में हुआ। मूल रूप से उत्तराखंड के पौड़ी गढ़वाल के राधाबल्लभ पुरम गांव निवासी उनके पिता मेजर जनरल (रिटा.) भुवन चंद्र खंडूरी तब एक फौजी ऑफिसर थे। रिटायरमेंट के बाद उन्होंने लोकसभा चुनाव लड़ा और जीतकर वाजपेयी सरकार में मंत्री भी बने।

खंडूरी उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री भी बने और प्रदेश की राजनीति में एक चर्चित नाम रहें। ऋतु की शुरुआती शिक्षा अपने पिता की फौजी पोस्टिंग के साथ कई  स्थानों पर हुई। उन्होंने मेरठ के रघुनाथ गर्ल्स कॉलेज से अपनी ग्रेजुएशन की पढ़ाई की। उसके उपरांत उन्होंने राजस्थान विश्वविद्यालय से पोस्ट ग्रेजुएशन किया और दिल्ली से पत्रकारिता में डिप्लोमा लिया। 

2006 से 2017 तक उन्होंने नोएडा स्थित एमिटी विश्वविद्यालय में फैकल्टी के रूप में भी कार्य किया। उत्तराखंड की राजनीति में बीसी खंडूरी के बेहद साफ छवि रही है। रितु को भी लोगों को भरपूर प्यार मिला है। यही वजह है कि वह दोबारा चुनाव जीतीं और पहली महिला स्पीकर के रूप में शपथ लेंगी।
