रामनगर : जैव विविधता से भरपूर कार्बेट टाइगर रिजर्व (सीटीआर) में दुर्लभ यूलोफिया आर्किड के पौधे मिले हैं। हालांकि यह पौधे सीटीआर में पहले भी थे या नहीं, इसका पता लगाने के लिए विभाग पौधे को वन अनुसंधान हल्द्वानी भेजने की बात कह रहा है।

सीटीआर में यूं तो पेड़ों पर उगने वाली आर्किड की कई प्रजातियां पाई जाती हैं। दो दिन पहले गश्त के दौरान वन कर्मियों को बिजरानी के प्लाट नंबर नौ में आर्किड प्रजाति के करीब 45 पौधे मिले। इसकी जानकारी जुटाने पर पौधे का नाम यूलोफिया फ्लावर पता चला।

रेंजर बिंदर पाल ने पौधे के बारे में जानकारी जुटाई तो पता चला कि कई साल पहले यह पौधा सीटीआर में देखा गया था, लेकिन प्रमाण नहीं मिले हैं। अब यह पौधा बिजरानी के जंगल मेें देखा गया है। रेंजर पाल ने बताया कि इस पौधे को कार्बेट के शोध रेंज से भी पता कराया जाएगा कि पहले यह कार्बेट में दिखा है या नहीं। यदि यह प्रजाति दुर्लभ हुई तो इसके संरक्षण की दिशा में कार्य किया जाएगा।

रामनगर के नेचुरलिस्ट पूरन गोस्वामी बताते हैं कि यूलोफिया आर्किड प्रजाति का पौधा है। यह अपने रंग बिरंगे सुंदर फूलों के लिए पहचाना जाता है। वर्ष 2015 में इसरो के वैज्ञानिक ईश्वरी दत्त राय, बाटनिकल सर्वे आफ इंडिया के जीत सिंह जलाल एवं उत्तराखंड स्पेस एल्प्किेशन सेंटर के गजेंद्र सिंह की टीम ने इस पौधे को 150 वर्ष बाद हिमालय के कुमां क्षेत्र में खोजा।

उनकी यह खोज इंडिया जर्नल आफ फारेस्ट्री के तीसरे अंक में पेज नंबर 263-264 पर प्रकाशित हुई थी। यह एक शाकीय बिना लकड़ी पौधा है, जो जमीन में कंद से उगता है। अप्रैल से जून के बीच इसें पले रंग के फूल खिलते हैं। उत्तराखंड मेें यूलोफिया की नौ प्रजातियां पाई जाती है। जिनमें से यह एक है। यह संरक्षित प्रजाति का पौधा है।
