यहां से रैली के साथ उक्रांद कार्यकर्ता ऋषिकेश तहसील में पहुंचे, जहां उन्होंने उपजिलाधिकारी शैलेंद्र नेगी के माध्यम से मुख्यमंत्री को ज्ञापन प्रेषित किया। उत्तराखंड क्रांति दल के जिला अध्यक्ष संजय डोभाल ने कहा कि हेलंग गांव में अपने पालतू पशुओं के लिए चारा काट कर ले जा रही महिलाओं के साथ पुलिस ने बल पूर्वक अभद्रता की। यही नहीं उनका चारा-पत्ती छीनकर उन्हें घंटों तक थाने में बैठाकर प्रताड़ित किया गया। साथ ही आपराधिक धाराओं में चालान कर उन्हें छोड़ा गया।
उक्रांद के केंद्रीय मीडिया प्रभारी शिव प्रसाद सेमवाल ने कहा कि उत्तराखंड की महिलाओं का अपनी पशुओं के लिए जंगल से एकत्र करना उनका मूलभूत अधिकार है। इस तरह पशुपालन कर अपनी आजीविका चला रही महिलाओं से गांव में पलायन रुका हुआ है।
मगर इस तरह का बर्ताव होता रहा तो महिलाएं अपने पारंपरिक कार्य को भी छोड़ देंगे। उन्होंने घटना की निंदा करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री से इस मामले की निष्पक्ष जांच कर दोषी पुलिसकर्मियों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की मांग की है।
