देहरादून। उत्तराखंड क्रांति दल ने बयोवृद्ध महावीर शर्मा के अकस्मात निधन पर पार्टी कार्यालय कचहरी रोड़ मे शोक सभा करते हुए भावभीनी श्रद्धांजलि दी। स्व. महावीर शर्मा को याद करते हुए दल के वरिष्ठ नेता एपी जुयाल ने कहा कि महावीर शर्मा का पूरा उत्तराखंड ऋणी है, जिन्होंने 1994 मे मुज्जफर नगर काण्ड के दिन आंदोलनकारियों की मदद की। यही नहीं जरूरतमंदों के लिए उन्होंने तन मन धन से सेवा की। इसलिए महावीर शर्मा के अनुकरणीय योगदान को हमेशा याद किया जाएगा। उनका सबसे बड़ा योगदान जिसके लिए वो हमेशा याद किये जाएंगे, उनके द्वारा रामपुर तिराहा मुज्जफरनगर मे शहीदों की स्मृति मे बने शहीद स्मारक की भूमि दान की गयी थी। इस अवसर पर उनको श्रद्धांजलि देते हुए पूर्व केंद्रीय महामंत्री सुनील ध्यानी ने कहा कि उत्तराखंड की सरकारों ने स्व. महावीर शर्मा को उनके जीते जीते कोई सम्मान नहीं दिया, जो खेद का विषय है। इस अवसर पर लताफत हुसैन, शांति प्रसाद भट्ट, विजय बौडाई, राजेंद्र बिष्ट, दीपक रावत, विजेंद्र रावत आदि उपस्थित रहे।
