राजीव गांधी नवोदय विद्यालय लोहाघाट के हॉस्टल में वार्डन पर छात्रों के बाल काटने और मारपीट करने का आरोप लगा है। इस प्रताड़ना से परेशान छात्र रात को थाने पहुंच गए। उन्होंने आरोपी वार्डन के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की मांग की। प्रधानाचार्य ने आरोपी वार्डन को निलंबित कर दिया है।

छात्रों ने आरोप लगाया कि वार्डन महेंद्र सिंह घरती ने मंगलवार देर रात नौ बजे अपने हाथ से ही सभी छात्रों के बाल काटने शुरू कर दिए। मंगलवार होने की वजह से छात्रों ने बाल कटाने से मना किया तो आरोप है कि वार्डन महेंद्र सिंह भड़क गए। उन्होंने छात्रों के बाल जबरदस्ती काटने के साथ ही डंडे से पिटाई शुरू कर दी।

एक छात्र को बुरी तरह से पीट दिया। वह हॉस्टल से भाग गया। छात्र के भागने के बाद कुछ छात्र लोहाघाट थाने में पहुंच गए। उन्होंने एसओ जसबीर सिंह चौहान को घटना की जानकारी दी। इसके बाद छात्र की खोज के लिए पुलिस को लगाया गया लेकिन पता चला कि वह विद्यालय परिसर में ही है।

इस बीच प्रधानाचार्य गोपाल राम भी थाने पहुंचे। वह छात्रों को समझाकर विद्यालय ले गए। सीओ विपिन पंत ने कहा कि छात्रों की ओर से अभी कोई तहरीर नहीं आई है। तहरीर मिलने के बाद आवश्यक कार्यवाही की जाएगी। उधर, वार्डन महेंद्र सिंह घरती ने छात्रों की ओर से लगाए आरोपों को निराधार बताया है। प्रधानाचार्य गोपाल राम का कहना है कि छात्रों की शिकायत के बाद आरोपी संविदा वार्ड महेंद्र सिंह घरती को निलंबित कर दिया है। उन्हें 15 दिन के भीतर स्पष्टीकरण देने के निर्देश दिए हैं। मामले की जांच के लिए पांच सदस्यीय टीम गठित कर दी है।
