रुड़की : भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (आइआइटी) रुड़की के शोधकर्ताओं ने प्रचलित दवा के प्रायोगिक अध्ययन के जरिये कोविड-19 संक्रमण के इलाज में कारगर तीन एंटी-वायरल मोलेक्यूल की पहचान की है। शोधकर्त्ताओं ने दवा किया है कि दवा मोलेक्यूलर थैरेपी क्लीनिकल ट्रायल के लिए तैयार है।

आइआइटी रुड़की के शोध प्रमुख बायोसाइंसेज एवं बायोइंजीनियरिंग विभाग की प्रो. शैली तोमर ने बताया कि शोध टीम ने कोविड-19 वायरस को टार्गेट करने और दवा के मोलेक्यूल की पहचान करने के लिए प्रोटीन डेटा बैंक का उपयोग किया।

दवा को पर्पस करने की रणनीति अपनाई
साथ ही प्रचलित दवाओं से नए एंटी-सार्स सीओवी-2 मोलेक्यूल खोजने के मकसद से दवा को पर्पस करने की रणनीति अपनाई। टीम ने कैंसर की दवा आईएनसी 28060 एंटी-डायबेटिक मोलेक्यूल डालिटाजोन और प्राकृतिक फाइटोकेमिकल कोलम्बियानाडीन की खोज की। जिनमें सूजन और कैंसर का प्रभाव कम करने के गुण हैं और जो कोविड वायरस पर असरदार है।

परमाणु संरचनाओं के उपयोग से छह एनबीपी की पहचान की
दवा विकसित करने में लंबा समय लेने वाले और महंगे अध्ययन के बिना दवा को रीपर्पस करने पर आधारित मोलेक्यूलर थिरैपी क्लिनिकल ट्रायल के लिए तैयार है। प्रो. तोमर ने बताया कि टीम ने प्रोटीन डाटा बैंक में उपलब्ध परमाणु संरचनाओं के उपयोग से छह एनबीपी की पहचान की।

मल्टी टार्गेट प्रयोग से इलाज के अधिक कारगर होने की उम्मीद
शोध में एक दवा से केवल एक वायरस प्रोटीन को टार्गेट करने के बजाय विभिन्न वायरस प्रोटीनों को मल्टी टार्गेट करने की प्रणाली चुनी गई है। इस मल्टी टार्गेट प्रयोग से इलाज के अधिक कारगर होने की उम्मीद है।

संस्थान निदेशक प्रो. केके पंत ने कहा है कि सार्स-सीओवी 2 वायरस पर इस तरह का शोध न केवल कोविड-19 महामारी, बल्कि नए वैरियंट से निपटने और भविष्य के लिए तैयार रहने में भी महत्वपूर्ण है। इस शोध के माध्यम से विज्ञानी समुदाय को इस तरह के वायरस को बेहतर समझने और कारगर वैक्सीन तैयार करने में मदद मिलेगी।
