देहरादून-थानो संपर्क मार्ग पर भोपालपानी पुल गुरुवार सुबह ढह गया। आनन-फानन पुलिस प्रशासन मौके पर पहुंचा और आवाजाही बंद कराई। इस दौरान पुल के दोनों ओर वाहनों की लंबी कतार लग गई। पुलिस ने ट्रैफिक वैकल्पिक मार्ग से चालू किया।

थाना रोड पर बना भोपालपानी पुल पहले से क्षतिग्रस्त था। आज उसका एक और हिस्सा नीचे गिर गया है। जिस कारण दोनों तरफ से आवजाही बंद कर दी गई। कोई जन हानि की सूचना नहीं है। इससे पहले देहरादून-थानो संपर्क मार्ग पर भोपालपानी पुल धंसाव को लेकर उठे विवाद के बीच मुख्य अभियंता (राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग) ने जांच पूरी करने के साथ ही रिपोर्ट प्रमुख अभियंता को सौंप दी थी।

मुख्य अभियंता प्रमोद कुमार की ओर से सौंपी गई रिपोर्ट में कहा गया था कि फिलहाल पुल किसी प्रकार का कोई खतरा नहीं है। तकनीकी विशेषज्ञों की जांच में पुल की दीवारें पूरी तरह सुरक्षित पाई गई हैं। प्रमोद कुमार का यह भी कहना था कि जल्द ही धंसाव वाले इलाके की मरम्मत कर पुल पर यातायात बहाल कर दिया जाएगा।

उद्घाटन से पहले ही आ गई थी दरारें

मुख्य अभियंता का कहना था कि पुल की दीवारों को तोड़ने के साथ ही नए सिरे से बनाने या किसी भी प्रकार के अतिरिक्त निर्माण की कोई जरूरत नहीं है। जिस तरीके से रेत-बजरी से लदे भारी-भरकम ट्रक रात दिन पुल से गुजर रहे हैं, उन परिस्थितियों में इस तरह का धंसाव हो जाना सामान्य प्रक्रिया है। खामियों को जल्द दूर कर दिया जाएगा।

भोपालपानी पुल में पहले भी धंसाव हो गया था। अधिशासी अभियंता जितेंद्र त्रिपाठी की अगुवाई में इंजीनियरों ने पुल पर तत्काल बैरिकेडिंग करने के साथ ही एक तरफ से भारी वाहनों की आवाजाही पर रोक लगा दी थी। एहतियात के तौर पर पुलिस की तैनाती के साथ ही विभागीय अवर अभियंता की भी ड्यूटी लगाई थी।

प्रमुख अभियंता ने पुल का निरीक्षण कर मुख्य अभियंता से इस संबंध में विस्तृत रिपोर्ट तलब की थी। 2018 में जॉलीग्रांट एयरपोर्ट को जोड़ने वाले मोटर मार्ग पर भोपालपानी में आठ करोड़ की लागत से बनाए गए पुल में उद्घाटन से पहले ही दरारें आ गईं थी।
