विश्व प्रसिद्ध टिहरी झील में पर्यटक वाटर स्पोर्ट्स का आनंद ले सकेंगे। बुधवार से झील में तीन दिवसीय वाटर स्पोर्ट्स एशियाई चैंपियनशिप शुरू हो गई है। मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी और केंद्रीय ऊर्जा मंत्री आरके सिंह ने चैंपियनशिप का शुभारंभ किया।

इस दौरान केंद्रीय ऊर्जा मंत्री ने टिहरी झील के पास इंटरनेशनल स्तर के कायकिंग व केनोइंग प्रशिक्षण केंद्र खोलने की घोषणा की। उन्होंने टिहरी डैम टॉप से आवागमन का समय एक घंटे बढ़ाने की बात कही। कहा कि टीएचडीसी कायकिंग और कैनोइंग खेलों को अंगीकृत (अडॉप्ट) करेगी। साथ ही ऊर्जा मंत्रालय उत्तराखंड को हर संभव मदद देगा। सीएम पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने कहा कि टिहरी झील नया एडवेंचर डेस्टिनेशन बन रहा है। देहरादून से टिहरी के लिए सुरंग का सर्वे किया जा रहा है।

नई खेल नीति से खिलाड़ी लाभान्वित होंगे। नौकरी में खेल कोटा निर्धारित किया जाएगा। इस मौके पर राज्यसभा सांसद नरेश बंसल, टीएचडीसी के सीएमडी आरके विश्नोई, विधायक किशोर उपाध्याय, देवप्रयाग विधायक विनोद कंडारी, शक्ति लाल शाह, विक्रम सिंह नेगी आदि उपस्थित रहे।

फोर्थ रैंकिंग एवं ओपन केनो (डोंगी) स्प्रिंट सीनियर पुरुष व महिला चैंपियनशिप के लिए देशभर के राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर प्रदर्शन करने वाले 260 खिलाड़ी टिहरी पहुंचे हैं। टिहरी में ही इन खिलाड़ियों की रैंकिंग तय होगी। 2022-23 के ओलंपिक और एशियाई गेम्स का यह क्वालीफाइ भी होगा।
बता दें कि टीएचडीसी और आईटीबीपी के तकनीकी सहयोग से इंडियन ओलंपिक संघ, उत्तराखंड ओलंपिक एसोसिएशन और उत्तराखंड कयाकिंग एवं केनोइंग एसोसिएशन (यूकेसीए) की पहल पर पहली बार टिहरी झील में राष्ट्रीय स्तर की प्रतियोगिता कराई जा रही है। उत्तराखंड ओलंपिक एसोसिएशन के महासचिव डॉ. डीके सिंह ने बताया सेना, बीईजी, दिल्ली, हिमाचल, हरियाणा, मध्य प्रदेश, पंजाब, राजस्थान, यूपी, केरल, त्रिपुरा, भारतीय नौ सेना, उत्तराखंड, बिहार राज्यों के एथलीट यहां पहुंचे हैं।
टिहरी झील में वाटर स्पोर्ट्स का शुभारंभ
टिहरी झील में के-2, के-4, के-1 और सी-2, सी-4 और सी-के में दमखम दिखाएंगे। यहां के का अर्थ कयाकिंग जबकि सी- का अर्थ कैनोइंग है। झील में 1000 मीटर, 500 मीटर और 200 मीटर का रेसकोर्स तैयार कर बलून और रोप डाली गई हैं। झील में उत्तराखंड कयाकिंग एवं केनोइंग एसोसिएशन की ओर से पहली बार कैनो पोलो का डेमो भी सीएम और केंद्रीय मंत्री के सम्मुख दिया जाएगा। कैनो पोलो में खिलाड़ी झील के ऊपर कयाक को पोलो के रूप में प्रयोग करते हैं।
टिहरी झील पहुंहे सीएम धामी
टिहरी बांध की झील में टिहरी वाटर स्पोर्ट्स में अंतरराष्ट्रीय खेलों के दौरान प्रयोग होने वाली नेलो बोट का प्रयोग किया जाएगा। नेलो एक पुर्तगाली कंपनी है। जो रेसिंग, टूरिंग, फिटनेस, सी-रेसिंग, पैराकेनो, सर्फस्सी ओर स्लैलम के लिए कश्ती, डोंगी का डिजाइन और निर्माण करती है। ओलंपिक सहित सभी इंटरनेशनल खेल में इसी बोट से कयाकिंग और कैनोइंग की जाती है।
अंतरराष्ट्रीय खिलाड़ी, कयाकिंग फेडरेशन की अध्यक्ष व टिहरी वाटर स्पोर्ट्स कप की निदेशक बिलकिस मीर ने बताया कि प्रतियोगिता में सेना के खिलाड़ी अजीत, आईटीबीपी की सोनिका देवी, चिन चिन सिंह, शालू सहित कई ख्याति प्राप्त खिलाड़ी टिहरी झील में प्रतिस्पर्धा करते हुए दिखेंगे।
