अभ्यर्थियों को प्रश्नपत्र पांच लाख रुपये और मूल प्रमाणपत्र रखकर दिए गए थे। सूत्रों का कहना है कि जालसाजों ने पांच लाख तक की पेशगी लेकर जाल में फंसाए गए अभ्यर्थियों के मूल प्रमाणपत्र अपने पास रख लिए ताकि फाइनल इंटरव्यू के दौरान तय की गई पूरी रकम हासिल की जा सके।

एसटीएफ ने जेई-एई की परीक्षा में धांधली में कई लोगों के खिलाफ मुकदमा दर्ज किया है। इसमें रुड़की तहसील के मोहम्मदपुर जट निवासी एक भाजपा नेता भी शामिल है। पुलिस पूछताछ में आरोपियों ने कई राज उगले हैं जिनका खुलासा आने वाले दिनों में एसटीएफ करेगी। वहीं, सूत्रों के अनुसार आरोपी भाजपा नेता ने तैयारी कर रहे रुड़की और आसपास के छात्रों के जाल में फंसाया था।

इन अभ्यर्थियों से एडवांस में लगभग पांच लाख की रकम एडवांस में ली गई। जेई की नौकरी के लिए 20 से 25 लाख तक और एई की नौकरी के लिए 30 से 35 लाख तक की रकम तय की गई। इसके बाद इन्हें प्रश्नपत्र उपलब्ध कराया गया लेकिन इससे पहले एडवांस रकम लेने के साथ ही उनसे मूल डिग्री भी कब्जे में ले ली।

यह तय किया गया कि इंटरव्यू के दौरान उन्हें डिग्री वापस की जाएगी। इंटरव्यू होते ही यह वापस ले ली जाएगी और जब फाइनल सेलेक्शन हो जाएगा तो बाकी की रकम जमा करने पर यह वापस किया जाएगा।
