नैनीताल: शहर के ठंडी सड़क क्षेत्र में दो वर्ष पूर्व आई आपदा से नुकसान को जिला प्रशासन अब बेहतर प्लानिंग के साथ भरपाई में जुटा है। ठंडी सड़क की पहाड़ी पर हुए भूस्खलन की रोकथाम को शासन ने 12 करोड़ बजट की स्वीकृति दे दी है।

जिला प्रशासन ने भूस्खलन रोकथाम के साथ ही पहाड़ी का सुंदरीकरण कर इसे टूरिस्ट स्‍पॉट के रूप में विकसित करने का प्लान तैयार किया है। प्लान के अनुसार पहाड़ी पर व्यू प्वाइंट और सड़क किनारे ग्लास हाउस स्थापित किया जाएगा। सुंदरता बढ़ाने के लिए पहाड़ी पर चेरी के पौधे रोपे जाएंगे।

अगस्त 2021 में ठंडी सड़क के पाषाण देवी मंदिर के समीप की पहाड़ी पर भारी भूस्खलन हुआ था। जिससे भारी मलबा झील में भी समा गया था। लोनिवि की ओर से रोकथाम के कार्य किए गए मगर वर्षा के कारण कार्य टिक नहीं पाए। मलबे के चलते करीब एक वर्ष तक सड़क पर लोगों की पैदल आवाजाही भी बंद रही।

इसी वर्ष सितंबर में दौरे पर पहुंचे मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने पहाड़ी की रोकथाम के लिए बजट दिये जाने की घोषणा की था। वैज्ञानिक अध्ययन के बाद अब सिंचाई विभाग की ओर से भेजे गए प्रस्ताव को शासन ने 12 करोड़ की मंजूरी दे दी है। जिसमें बजट मिलते ही रोकथाम के कार्य शुरू कर दिये जाएंगे।

ठंडी सड़क पर टहलेंगे पर्यटक
शहर में पर्यटन कारोबार के साथ वाहनों का दबाव भी बढ़ने लगा है। ऐसे में शहर का ठंडी सड़क क्षेत्र अभी भी शोरगुल से दूर है। यहां पहुंच कर पर्यटक झील किनारे शांति का अनुभव करते है। डीएम धीराज गर्ब्याल ने बताया कि ठंडी सड़क क्षेत्र में पैदल आवाजाही पर्यटकों को प्रकृति से नजदीकी का अहसास कराएगी।

आपदा को अवसर में बदलेगा प्लान डीएम ने बताया कि ठंडी सड़क के भूस्खलन क्षेत्र की रोकथाम के साथ ही सुंदरीकरण कार्य भी प्रस्तावित है। जिसके लिए करीब 48 लाख का प्रोजेक्ट तैयार किया गया है। इसमें रिटेनिंग वाल को सुंदर तरीके से लगाया जाएगा। जिसके ऊपर व्यू प्वाइंट विकसित किया जाएगा।

साथ ही ग्लास हाउस भी बनाया जाना है। ट्रीटमेंट में पौधारोपण भी शामिल है। पहाड़ी पर चेरी और अन्य फूल वाले पौधों का रोपण किया जाएगा। इनसे ठंडी सड़क और आकर्षक लगेगी।
