सुप्रसिद्ध मां पूर्णागिरि मेले का मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने शुभारंभ किया। इस दौरान कुमाऊंंनी छोलिया नृत्य से सीएम धामी का भव्य स्वागत हुआ। उनके साथ इस दौरान सांसद अजय टम्टा मौजूद रहे। हलांकि जिले की प्रभारी मंत्री रेखा आर्या और वन विकास निगम अध्यक्ष कैलाश गहतोड़ी किसी कारणवश शामिल नहीं हो पाएष

प्रतिवर्ष इस शक्ति पीठ की यात्रा करने आस्थावान श्रद्धालु कष्ट सहकर भी यहाँ आते हैं। होली के अगले दिन यानी आज नौ मार्च से शुरू हो चुके पूर्णागिरि मेले के लिए छह सेक्टर मजिस्ट्रेटों की तैनाती कर दी गई है। मेला मजिस्ट्रेट एसडीएम सुंदर सिंह ने बताया कि व्यवस्थाओं पर निगरानी के लिए मेला क्षेत्र में छह सेक्टर बनाए गए हैं।

बताया कि ठुलीगाड़ से भैरव मंदिर सेक्टर में तहसीलदार पिंकी आर्या को सेक्टर मजिस्ट्रेट बनाया गया है। इसके अलावा भैरव मंदिर से काली मंदिर तक सिंचाई विभाग के सहायक अभियंता आरके यादव को, काली मंदिर से मुख्य मंदिर तक लोनिवि के एई विभोर गुप्ता को, ककरालीगेट से ठुलीगाड़ तक जल संस्थान के एई बीएस कुवार्बी, टनकपुर सेक्टर में ईओ भूपेंद्र प्रकाश जोशी को और बनबसा मेला क्षेत्र सेक्टर में नगर पंचायत ईओ राकेश कोटिया को सेक्टर मजिस्ट्रेट बनाया गया है।
