हल्द्वानी : फतेहपुर रेंज का आदमखोर बाघ या तेंदुआ वन विभाग और शिकारियों को चकमा दे रहा है। वन विभाग को उम्मीद थी कि अंतिम घटना को अंजाम देने के बाद आदमखोर दोबारा घटनास्थल पर आएगा। क्योंकि, वह शव को पूरा नहीं खा पाया था। जिस वजह से वन विभाग ने घटनास्थल से लेकर आसपास के रास्तों पर भी कैमरे फिट किए। मगर तीन दिन होने के बावजूद कैमरे में कोई तस्वीर कैद नहीं हो पाई। यानी आदमखोर ने जंगल के इस हिस्से में दोबारा रुख नहीं किया। वहीं, गुरुवार को हुई बारिश की वजह से वन विभाग को सर्च आपरेशन में और दिक्कत आ रही है।

नौ दिसंबर को फतेहपुर रेंज के जंगल में एक युवक की तेंदुआ के हमले में जान चली गई थी। इसके बाद 13 जनवरी को टंगर निवासी महिला को भी घास काटते वक्त गुलदार ने हमला कर मौत के घाट उतार दिया। वहीं, 17 जनवरी को बजूनिया हल्दू निवासी नत्थूलाल गुप्ता पर भी हमला हुआ। तीसरा मामला जंगल में साढ़े तीन किमी अंदर घटित होने के साथ वीभत्स भी था। क्योंकि, अधेड़ नत्थू की कमर से नीचे का पूरा हिस्सा ही गायब था।

आसपास मिले पदचिन्हों से आकलन किया गया कि तीसरी घटना में हमलवार गुलदार नहीं बल्कि बाघ होगा। जिसके बाद संदेह की पुष्टि के लिए वन विभाग ने कैमरे भी लगाए। रेंज टीम को भरोसा था कि बचे मांस को खाने के लिए आदमखोर दोबारा मौके पर आएगा। कैमरे में फोटो आने पर उसकी पहचान के साथ व्यवहार का पता भी चलेगा। लेकिन तीन दिन होने के बावजूद कैमरे में कोई फोटो कैद नहीं हुई। यानी आदमखोर दोबारा नहीं आया। ऐसे में वन विभाग की चुनौती और बढ़ गई है। शिकारी हरीश धामी और वन विभाग की टीम जुटे हुए हैं।
